Policies on Hearing Aid Coverage
The initial service includes:
- 1) evaluation sessions with the hearing aid specialist, which are necessary for fitting a hearing aid and include, in particular: (…) Spatial Localization, when warranted;
- 3) the fitting, delivery, and immediate adjustment of the hearing aid, as well as sessions to adapt the hearing aid to the individual’s needs and vice versa, including, in particular: pure-tone audiometry: free-field gain, tolerance tests, Spatial Localization Tests.
- Specific scenarios and tests conducted, such as tests in noisy environments, Spatial Localization, other questionnaires, and response curves from artificial ear or in vivo devices will be included as a matter of course.
- Depending on the circumstances, and in any case at least once a year during inspection sessions: Spatial Localization or interaural balancing, in-vivo adjustments, response curve coupler, compression ratio, and maximum output level.

Immersive auditory-cognitive training improves speech perception in noise among older adults with hearing and working memory impairments. The study demonstrates that combining sensory and cognitive elements in an immersive multisensory environment yields better results than traditional auditory training methods.
